The management of the IUC Partner Programme
The IUC Phase I Partner Programme (PP) is headed by the local and Flemish Coordinators, Kora Tushune and Luc Duchateau (Ghent University).The IUC programme is coordinated by Ghent University.
The daily follow up of the programme is in the hands of the Programme Support Unit (PSU). The PSU is coordinated by the programme manager Jemal Abafita (South) and the ICOS of Ghent University Helke Baeyens (South).
The IUC PP has its own decision making body that is in charge of making IUC-specific policies and overseeing the programme and its constituent projects. This body is called the IUC Joint Steering Committee.
The IUC joint steering committee consists of the local steering committee and the Flemish steering committee. The IUC joint steering committee meets every two years.
The local committee is convened at least four times a year. It is accountable to the President and its membership includes the local coordinator (chairperson), the project leaders, the research and publication office, the planning and programming service office and the programme manager.
The Flemish steering committee meets once a year and its membership includes the Flemish coordinator (chairperson), the Flemish project leader, the ICOS from Ghent University and the postdoctoral scientist attached to the department of the Flemish coordinator. The postdoctoral scientist is funded by Ghent University, his/her main task being to assist the Flemish coordinator with running the IUC programme.
